The HCC Standard Primary Moodle Project
Some more information about this project.

The intent is to provide an easily customisable installation which can be provided for Primary Schools within the Hunter Central Coast Region as a means of encouraging greater engagement with and use of web 2.0 tools and spaces within primary schools and classrooms.
The standard installation will come with a space for each year, in which courses can be created for each class.
There is space to upload the Newsletter, and an edUtube space to upload and display videos.
It is anticipated that individual teachers may like to use their class space to display work using a variety of embedded codes from sites which generate animations, slideshows etc.
Teachers can post links to other sites, as well as encouraging children to use the inbuilt blog etc. Chat and wikis can also be enabled.

This is a fully clonable site.

That is, it can be installed and customised to suit the needs of the individual school. It doesn't take long to do this.

We can host this on our server for no charge to the school. You simply need to provide:

  • A number of banners for the frontpage slideshow. (These need to be 970X150 and saved as jpg. Naming convention is yourschoolnamebanner1.jpg; yourschoolnamebanner2.jpg; etc)
  • A top banner which will appear on every page (This needs to be 970X100 and saved as jpg. Named as yourschoolnametopbanner.jpg)
  • Your choice of colour bars. (A selection chart is available.)
  • Your choice of menubar background colour. (A selection chart is available)

The site is set up to use email based self registration, with restriction to nominated domains. This means that this can be set so that only students with @education accounts or staff with @det accounts can set up an account and login. The site admin can check these on a regular basis.

The expectation would be that, once the site is commissioned, it's all yours to own and operate and to encourage staff to use. It would also be hoped that you would take part in user group sharing sessions and, if comfortable, maybe share some resources etc via a site like schoolsite
